Touchline Event Management believes in appointing stewards who are fit, active and have the natural talent to deliver excellent customer service. Stewards are a vital element of the event management team, and are therefore crucial in the hosting,
managing and running of any operation.

Our company adopts a positive approach to recruitment and training, which ultimately ensures a high standard of service, professionalism and expertise to the benefit of our customers.

From the start of the recruitment process all applicants are fully vetted and screened with thorough background checks. Sound customer service skills are a prerequisite for a successful appointment. Once on board, new recruits are led through a rigorous training plan in Spectator Safety by our training officers. All stewards receive NVQ Level 2 training covering:

• How to maintain a safe environment
• Response to spectators
• Emergency first aid
• Basic fire awareness
• Contingency and evacuation planning
• Disability and conflict management

We continue to work very closely with the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and always adopt their guidelines in the planning of our events. Fully trained and licensed door registered stewards are always used if applicable to an event.

The British Standards Institution (BSI) regularly assess the integrity and effectiveness of our event stewarding processes and frequently monitor our supporting audit trails and administration systems. By following the BS8406 and BS7960 codes of practice we have a clear direction for the staffing, operation and management of stewards and safety personnel at events.
